Samaritans is based on Psalm 82 vs 4 God is making room for the rejected, the forgotten and the isolated in our society by plucking them out of the hand of the wicked. Our Motto is “Spreading Love, Spreading Warmth”.
Our Vision is to bring the poor, the needy and the isolated not only in our society but on the African Continent back to God’s original plan for their lives and the recovery of their destinies. Plans are being made to partner with churchs’ in Zambia, South Africa and Nigeria to mention a few, to give God’s people a future and a hope.
The department was inaugurated by the Visioner of Recovery Chapel London, Senior Pastor – Pastor Adebo Tomomewo.
Current Activities
We presently have a fund raiser during the church service once a month. All donations are used to purchase sleeping bags, clothing and food to be distributed on our visits to the homeless in the city of London. During these visits we distribute sleeping bags, warm clothing and food and spread the love of Jesus Christ to not only the homeless but also to those who have fallen on hard times and need a listening ear.
It is being proposed that in the near future Samaritans will, as a department run a soup kitchen to be established by Recovery Chapel where those in need of a warm wholesome meal, a cup of tea or just a listening ear can come in and be attended to.
Recovery Chapel is looking forward in the future, to working with the local council with regards to projects which can benefit disadvantaged people and the youth within the borough.
We also pay regular visits to prisons in the city of London, bringing hope to the inmates via the teaching of the Word and prayer. The Lord has granted prisoners many testimonies through this ministry.
Upcoming Projects
Recovery Samaritans propose, within the next few months to seek out, with the help of our contacts a number of orphaned children in Nigeria who will be sponsored from primary to secondary school level by the department.
Our Goal
We cannot change the lives of all people – but we can endeavour to spread love and warmth and give hope to whomever God causes to come our way.
We aim to give the membership of Recovery Chapel regular updates of all our acitivies and how their generous donations are being utilised through our proposed monthly bulletins.
