UNDERSTANDING THE SUPERNATURAL GROWTH

I welcome you to this  teaching on  SUPERNATURAL GROWTH. By understanding the season we are in, the time has come for us as Individuals to grow from within to without. If you don’t grow from within, your life will not grow outward.

Last month, we dealt extensively on Open Heaven and its blessing as we saw in Luke 3:21-22,

Now when all the people were baptized, it came to pass, that Jesus also being baptized, and praying, the heaven was opened, And the Holy Ghost descended in a bodily shape like a dove upon him, and a voice came Heaven, which said, Thou art my beloved Son; in thee I am well pleased.

The heavens were open and a voice was heard declaring Jesus Christ as the Son of God. The Heaven Opened when Jesus grew into maturity, but the Heavens were not opened until His son ship was declared after the Baptism. Son ship requires Maturity, Jesus was declared the son of God as a result of His Spiritual maturity. Open Heaven requires some degree of Maturity.

Spiritual maturity commands a measure of the Holy Spirit. It enhances a higher measure of the Holy Spirit. The more mature we become in God, the more the measure of the Holy Spirit power that will be released in our life. The level of our maturity is what determines the level of the Spirit of God that is released upon us as Sons of God.

Whenever the Heavens open, a measure of the Spirit power of God is released upon us and this release is determined by our maturity. It is not God that determines the level of measure of Spirit power that we walk in. It is our maturity that determines it. The more the Spiritual maturity we are, the more the measure of the Holy Spirit that will be released upon us.

We remain in the level we are because we have not taken the responsibility to our Spiritual maturity. Open Heaven is not possible without Spiritual Growth which is a degree of maturity. We also discover we cannot talk about Spiritual growth without the Holy Spirit.

In Acts 2:1-2
And when the day of Pentecost was fully come, they were all with one accord in one place, and suddenly there came a sound from heaven as of a rushing mighty wind and it filled all the house where they were sitting.
And there appeared unto them cloven tongues like as of fire, and it sat upon each of them.

We saw that the arrival of the Holy Spirit brought about Increase as well as spiritual growth,
The disciples were about 120 people in the upper room before the coming of the Holy Spirit, but on the arrival of the Holy Spirit, they went from 120 to 3000 people.

In Acts 2:41,
Then they that gladly received his word were baptized: and the same day there were added unto them about three thousand souls.

This is Supernatural Growth.so  this dimension of growth its not possible without the holy spirit and  the father will not release this measure of holy spirit without  our maturity or personal growth. Luke3:21-22
This shows that we have to take responsibility for our spiritual maturity which will leads to our Spiritual growth. We must not forget that this growth of the church its just in one day  input of the Holy Spirit, the holy spirit can do the same in your career, business, work of your hand or in any areaof your desire. It means that we may never experience the blessing of the Spirit beyond, the level of our Personal growth.

Before the Pentecost explosion of the holyspirit that brought this supernatural growth the apostles has been going through  personal  development training under Christ for three years and  40 days intense training. Acts1:3 after resurrection.

HOW THEN CAN WE GROW SPIRITUALLY

The Spiritual growth is programmed. It does not just occur. There are two kinds of  growth  whether its biological or spiritual

The growth mentioned above follow two basic approaches:

1) FEEDING and 2) EXERCISE, These two approaches to growth are the principal element in the subject of growth.

FEEDING

In John 6:63
It is the spirit that quickeneth; the flesh profiteth nothing: the words that I speak unto you, they are spirit, and they are life.

The word of God is the food of our Spirit man. We saw that the word of God is Spirit in written form, impacting life. It is God’s word that raised the level of your Spirituality. How much you are able to absorb the word of God will end up in your level of Spirituality or Spiritual growth. Spiritual growth begins with absorbing, receiving and swallowing the word of God. Feeding on the word of God is what makes us fit as stated.

In 2 Tim 3:15-17
And that from a child thou hast known the holy scriptures, which are able to make thee wise unto salvation through faith which is in Christ Jesus? All scripture is given by inspiration of God, and is profitable for doctrine, for reproof, for correction, for instruction in righteousness:
That the man of God may be perfect, thoroughly furnished unto all good works.

If you must be used for God’s work, you must be furnished, your primary duty to maturity is to feed on the Word of God, your dept of knowledge determines your height in Glory,

In 2 Tim 2:15
Study to shew thyself approved unto God, a workman that needeth not to be ashamed, rightly dividing the word of truth.

To escape the shame of stagnation, you must study the word of God; It is only those who study the word, that will have something to show forth in their God

EXERCISE

There are basically many ways to exercise but we will be discussing 3 ways exercising your Spirit man

1) PRAYER

In Acts 6:4,
But we will give ourselves continually to prayer, and to the ministry of the word.
You can exercise yourself in private prayers and Intercessions. It shows that as you pray, you are not only making request, you are developing your Spiritual man in the process. People that truly pray don’t misbehave when they come out from prayer room. Prayer does not just change situation, it also changes us

2) FASTING

In 2 Corinthians 4:16
For which cause we faint not; but though our outward man perish, yet the  inward  man is renewed day by day.
Fasting fattens our spirit man. When you fast, you weaken your flesh and in so doing you fatten your inner man. Fasting shakes off all strangers within your spirit man for our spirit man to live

3) GODLINESS

We live in a contaminated world where many are with unclean lips like the Bible says

In 1 Tim 4:7,
But refuse profane and old wives’ fables, and exercise thyself rather unto godliness.
We have 3 kinds of people we encounter daily in the body of Christ. They are either DOGS, and WOLVES and SERPENT

DOGS
These are people that go back to their vomit

WOLVES
These are the one that take advantage of their brethren. They are unfriendly friends

SERPENT
These are hypocrites in the body of Christ. Who hides under a camouflage?

Godliness is able to help us to be free from all these vices and forms of carnality. As we give attention to these facts, our growth is guaranteed since the more we grow and mature spiritually, the more measure of Spirit power that will be increase in our lives for Spiritual growth.

God bless you in Jesus name

Recovery Supplementary School

We at Recovery Community Services welcome the public to our New Recovery Supplementary School which was officially opened on the 24th of April 2010.

Currently we have 60 pupils who have enrolled in our Supplementary school and are benefiting enormously from this program. Below are the excerpts about the Recovery Supplementary School.

Introduction:

The Department for Children, Schools and Families Bill was set out to ensure that from September 2010, under the “Pupils’ Guarantee”, children in England have the legal right to individualised tuition if they enter KS2 behind national expectations (level 2) and are not making good progress. Year 7 pupils who start secondary school below national expectations (level 4) will be entitled to one to one or small group tuition and their learning will be assessed through a progress check (APP).

As a community based organisation, we at Recovery Community Services have seized the initiative ahead of government’s September start date by setting up the Recovery Supplementary School. Not only do we intend to plug the gap in attainment of under achieving pupils, we also believe that the gifted and talented pupils need to be taken care of in our delivery. Those ‘A’ pupils could become ‘A*’ pupils if they are appropriately challenged and stretched.

The National Strategies:

Ensuring that the right support is in place for all children regardless of class and social background is very important in closing the attainment gap. Government have therefore put in place through the National Strategies Guidance for tutors in implementing one to one tuition. We at Recovery Community Services are going to be guided by this provision, and our staffs have already gone through training in the basics of planning and delivering learning using the national strategies.

Recovery School’s Curriculum:

We follow the national curriculum, and provide for children across the 4 key stages (Age 516).

For the benefit of those not familiar with the key stages, age 5-7 fall within KS1, while age 7-11 falls within key stage 2. These first 2 Key Stages form the primary curriculum.

Age 11-14 falls within KS3 and age 14-16 falls within KS4. These latter 2 Key stages form the secondary curriculum.
We shall make provision for the two compulsory subjects in the national curriculum which is maths and English. As added value we shall provide for ICT, Music and Dance in our curriculum. Who says we cannot have our own community-based ‘X – Factor’ competition that will set the pace for other communities?

Mother-tongue Provision:

It is a known fact that children born to people in Diaspora are often not engaged with the mother tongue of their parents. Some mainstream schools are known to have introduced languages like Yoruba, Punjabi, and Urdu etc as a way of arresting this concern. It is our hope at Recovery Community Services to introduce relevant mother tongues in our curriculum in the nearest future.

Our Staff:

We have implemented our Recruitment Policy in engaging qualified and motivated staff and Volunteers to deliver the best learning experience to our pupils. All our staffs are CRB checked, and conversant with Safeguarding Policy, Health and Safety Policy, Child Protection Policy and other policies that operate within a normal school setting.

Health and Safety:

Our own is a welcoming environment, and there is provision for wheelchair access and a fully functional lift system, Though we are not under any obligation to provide lunch to our pupils because of the short contact time of only 2 hours that the school is open to them, we may give snacks and drinks as provided by friends of our project from time to time. However, we make sure we only accept this gesture from reputable and government registered catering organizations with staff trained in Food and hygiene. We also ensure that our staff are properly trained in serving food items to our pupils. Therefore we shall request parents who approve their children and wards to take part in food and drink to sign a form of consent

Free Tuition?

This has been the most common questions from parents anytime they phone in. As we have stated in our handbill, the School will be free, but for the first one month. You will agree with us that in order to retain qualified staff that will provide the best Learning experience to our pupils they will need to be well motivated. It is our intention to apply for educational grant or funding that will make it possible for us to significantly subsidise whatever we ask our pupils to pay after the one month grace.

When funding is in place, we will only charge £10.00 per pupil per week in order to cover our costs. For those who have 3 or more children in the school however, we shall give £5.00 discount per week. We welcome donations which will be thankfully received and this will go a long way in helping us provide the best learning experience to our pupils.
