TRANSFORMED BY HIS (GOD’S) GLORY

I welcome you to the 5th month of this year. The month of His glory, we saw in the book of Exodus 33:18 And he said, I beseech thee, show me thy glory. Here Moses had a deep encounter with God Moses asked the Lord to show Him His Glory. He could have asked for material things but he chose something better than material blessings .He asked God to show him all his attributes .Exodus 34:29 And it came to pass, when Moses came down from mount Sinai with the two tables of testimony in Moses’ hand, when he came down from the mount, that Moses wist not that the skin of his face shone while he talked with him.

This act of God by showing His attributes to Moses is to let us know that it is the desires of the Father of glory to reveal His glory to us if we ask for it.  We can begin to see the glory of God reflected in Jesus Christ’s face as we receive Spiritual light from the Holy Spirit.

Why? This is because the Glory of God is fully revealed in Jesus, The son God who is the brightest of His Glory. Hebrew 1: 3 Who being the brightness of his glory, and the express image of his person, and upholding all things by the word of his power, when he had by himself purged our sins, sat down on the right hand of the Majesty on high and the exact representation of His being…the personality of God.

In Habakkuk 2:14 for the earth shall be filled with the knowledge of the glory of the LORD, as the waters cover the sea. How much of the Knowledge of the Glory of God we discover depends to a great extent on our personal search for it. God’s words reveal that contact with God’s Glory put us in touch with God Himself.

God commanded light to shine in darkness at creation as stated in Genesis 1: 3, And God said, let there be light: and there was light. His plans is to turn on the light of His Glory to shine in our heart so as to give light of His Glory in the face of Jesus Christ. 2 Corinthians 4:6 said ‘For God, who commanded the light to shine out of darkness, hath shined in our hearts, to give the light of the knowledge of the glory of God in the face of Jesus Christ

This is God’s plans for those that will seek this dimension. The knowledge of the glory of God can only be experienced by those who seek the face of Jesus Christ. To seek the Glory of God is to seek the face of God Himself.

As we seek a close intimacy with God, we are espoused to his word (Jesus Christ); the Holy Spirit shows God’s face (Glory), as 2 Corinthians 3:18 stated, ‘But we all, with open face beholding as in a glass the glory of the Lord, are changed into the same image from glory to glory, even as by the Spirit of the Lord. When we are espoused to His word, the Holy Spirit shows God’s face (Glory). This brings about transformation (change). The Glory of God brings about transformational changes. This is why David cried out in Psalm 63:2 to see thy power and thy glory, so as I have seen thee in the sanctuary.

In Exodus 33: 14—23 and he said, my presence shall go with thee, and I will give thee rest. 15And he said unto him, If thy presence go not with me, carry us not up hence. 16For wherein shall it be known here that I and thy people have found grace in thy sight? is it not in that thou goest with us? so shall we be separated, I and thy people, from all the people that are upon the face of the earth.

17And the LORD said unto Moses, I will do this thing also that thou hast spoken: for thou hast found grace in my sight, and I know thee by name. 18And he said, I beseech thee, shew me thy glory. 19And he said, I will make all my goodness pass before thee, and I will proclaim the name of the LORD before thee; and will be gracious to whom I will be gracious, and will shew mercy on whom I will shew mercy. 20And he said, Thou canst not see my face: for there shall no man see me, and live. 21And the LORD said, Behold, there is a place by me, and thou shalt stand upon a rock: 22And it shall come to pass, while my glory passeth by, that I will put thee in a clift of the rock, and will cover thee with my hand while I pass by: 23And I will take away mine hand, and thou shalt see my back parts: but my face shall not be seen. Moses cried out to the Lord and requested for God’s presence to go with them. For without God’s presence they cannot advance further. The Lord granted Moses His request for His presence and His presence went with them.

When God granted Moses his request, he (Moses) proceeded to a higher dimension of God’s Glory. (Exodus 33:18 18and he said, I beseech thee, shew me thy glory.) Moses cried out to God for something more than experience, that is the Glory of God. He has tasted God’s wonders, signs and miracles. He saw the fire of God and Manna’s from heaven, yet he opted for something bigger than all these experiences.

When others were asking God for bread, Moses was asking God for His Glory, while the Children of Israel cried out to God for physical possession, Moses was asking for Heavenly treasures.

In other word, Moses asked for more of God while the children of Israel asked for bread. His heart wish was to seek God Himself, He longed for a good knowledge of His Glory as Exodus 33: 20,20And he said, Thou canst not see my face: for there shall no man see me, and live. God told Moses that he cannot see his face but Moses was content with the back of God. He was given a partial revelation of God’s Glory because there was not yet a perfect sacrifice that will allow a perfect fellowship with God, yet this partial vision encounter with God transformed Moses that his face shone. He face was radiant with God’s Glory. As in Exodus 34:29 stated, And it came to pass, when Moses came down from mount Sinai with the two tables of testimony in Moses’ hand, when he came down from the mount, that Moses wist not that the skin of his face shone while he talked with him.

When we look at the impact of this Glory on Moses and the people, we conclude that if this partial encounter could make such an impact on the people that they feared and asked Moses to cover his face, then how much more Glory are we to behold if we look up to Jesus Christ.

By beholding the backside of God, Moses was transformed. It was this proximity to His Glory that transformed his appearance.

In Acts 4:13, now when they saw the boldness of Peter and John, and perceived that they were unlearned and ignorant men, they marvelled; and they took knowledge of them that they had been with Jesus. As Peter and John were defending Christ at the Council about the great wonders that was done by God through them. The amazing thing is that they took knowledge that they had been with Christ (Lord of Glory).ISN’T IT TIME PEOPLE SEE US AND SAY THE SAME THING. They knew that they were uneducated and untrained but took notice that they had been with the Lord Jesus Christ.

Genuine association with the Lord Jesus Christ robs off on us and causes a transformation in our lives. So as children of God, we can make an impact in this world, if we can only spend time in the presence of His Glory. God’s Glory is found on the face of Jesus Christ. Should we not go after it?

God‘s wants to make His face to shine upon us and He told the Priest to bless His people with this verse of scripture, Number 6:24—26, 24The LORD bless thee, and keep thee:25The LORD make his face shine upon thee, and be gracious unto thee:26The LORD lift up his countenance upon thee, and give thee peace.

David knew the importance of God’s face shinning on you as Psalm 143:7—8, stated, Hear me speedily, O LORD: my spirit faileth: hide not thy face from me, lest I be like unto them that go down into the pit.8Cause me to hear thy loving-kindness in the morning; for in thee do I trust: cause me to know the way wherein I should walk; for I lift up my soul unto thee. The lack of God’s face is the reason things are dying around us.

You cannot encounter God’s face and live a pitiable life. The reason for problem is that God hides His face from us. The answer to our entire problem is an encounter with His face in Glory.

I believe that in this month of May, we will experience His Glory. How do we encounter God’s Glory?

  • Ask God for it…..Acts 7:7
  • Demonstrate your desperation and hunger for God….Psalm 63:2
  • You can praise your way into it
  • By the word…..2 Corinthians 3:18

And throughout this month, we will be exploring on the Glory of God and, the Father of Glory will give us an encounter with the Lord of Glory.

Shalom
